Still unable to use metaverse!

Where has the famous support gone?

Since the previous technical support request through [email protected] gave a solution that did not work, and after reopening the ticket/emailing 5 days ago [no respose], I find myself posting here to try and bring some sort of attention to the issue, or something.

The problem is that I am unable to post a score to the metaverse (with error 12, keys do not match). Now originally this was thought to be the case with me registering my metaverse character under the dark avatar serial, which apparently is not what I am supposed to do. So support tells me to just create a new character using the Dreadlords serial. So I do, and low and behold it does not work, (yes everything is registered fine in SDC and the new character was selected and even set to defualt before.

It is very frustrating playing a gigantic game after thinking the problem was fixed to only have the error come up again. I know support previously said that it was impossible to delete a character but I find that hard to believe. If there is another way to do this then I would love to know, but for now this experience has soured my rather short existence here.

On top of this I did pre-order Twilight, and I wish I did not since I get the distinct feeling the metaverse will remain inoperative, which really sucks.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Post your ticket ID, and I'll have support pull it up in the morning.

Same problem here. Ticket opened on Thurs: VRH-758503

Both Tickets have been responded to, not sure but we may be having an issue with the Metaverse. I am checking with our Metaverse guru for any database issues.

All right! It finally works. Thanks, better late than never. I did notice that the DA exe asked me to register again... so I guess if someone did something, thanks! Ok off I go to play the new beta.

Long ordeal finally over.

Hmm, I also filed a bug with the metaverse and also pre-ordered TA - the problems just started after putting in the TA serial to get the beta. Could there be a connection? I'm currently still awaiting a response on my ticket, but I only opened it about 24 hours ago, so I'm still feeling semi-patient.

I just e-mailed support with the same problem. Since I have a bunch of uncompleted DA games (due to the save-game bug that has just been fixed), I am hoping that a solution will be forthcoming.

"Semi-patient," I like that. Can I use it?

Heh, "semi-patient" is now yours if you like - I downgraded to "completely impatient" a while ago and posted all about it because I was getting nowhere. It looks as though there will be no way to post my two games. I emailed both to support and am awaiting a further response. I hope that this issue affects more people so stardock will have to get the metaverse code in a more stable state, or at least provide us with some way to post "broken" saves.

So what is the fix? After posting many many DA games now I'm getting an error. (Not sure if it's 12, but essentially saying I'm using the wrong key)

Is this what I get for registering the gold edition? I had seen this problem when I went back and tried to play DL. (And I said oh well)

Now I can't post DA. What do I need to do? I looked in the account info, and at my characters, but I don't see a way to change anything. Please don't say I'm fubared...

From what I can tell, you have to (a) get your original serial number either by emailing support or finding your original purchase email, (b) re-register that serial in SD Central, and (c) re-register your serial on the metaverse via the "Register" link at the bottom of the page. Do that, and you "should" be able to post a new game. It does appear that my incredible game that had the problem will never be postable, and support is totally worthless for getting that dealt with. So your saves that won't post are probably lost, but I'd suggest bugging support as much as you can. Eventually SD has to realize that breaking the metaverse even for a single game is unacceptable when some games can take an immense amount of time.
