Any help with the crash-on-load in 1.8c?

Howdy.

I also found (to my dismay) that 1.8c crashes when I try to load my game. And it was a brand-new 1.8c game that I started yesterday...

Can anyone offer some guidance?

Well, the crash is probably due to obsolete ship designs. If you play a game without obsoleting any ships or overwriting any existing ship designs, you should be able to avoid this crash.  You can still save your ship designs, just make sure that you pick unique names for them.

Not the case. I have only ever made one ship design period. The one I made has a unique name.

The bug happens after a certain lenght of time. I can save and load fine early in a game.

Hmm...then zip it up and send it in, it doesn't sound like the previous problem.

Please send it to [email protected] and also please zip and send in your ships folder from My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar.  If you're playing a metaverse game, please send in the ships folder from the Metaverse subfolder of GC2DarkAvatar.
