Life of the Forums?

Maybe Kryo or another moderator can answer this....What is the life of the forum like?

I mean, have the forums been dieing down? Does it still see as much activity as when DA was launched? Just interested in the pulse of the GalCiv2 community.

If anything, I've found the forums almost too busy in recent months--I spend too much time reading here and I still can't quite catch everything I'm interested in.

The Metaverse League players always have a few threads going actively, the steady update work on DA spawns new threads regularly, as does the upcoming beta for TA, and a some folks are still trying to keep the Off Topic area active despite last summer's uproar over why folks would talk about anything other than GC2 around here.

They seems much busier lately, while at the same time it seems like much less is actually being said, if that makes any sense (it does to me).

Life in the Forums?

Well, there is an interesting Fungus growing over in the AAR section and rumor has it that a bizzare cockroach-rat hybrid species has taken up residence under the floorboards of Off-Topic.

The Metaverse forums are certainly active as is the Game talk and DA forums. If there is any slowing of activity i am sure TA will soon fix that. But i would guess that since we have just had an update and 2.0 is on the horizon, obviously Stardock feels there is enough activity to justify that work, not to mention the updates that will possibly follow TA's evolution.

As long as it stays there......

Has anyone noticed the bum lying around in the modding area? just thought I'd tell you before he goes to the gametalk area and starts stealing all the rum!

Well it's been good lately. The darkest and shakiest of times were when those god darned "god threads" were coming around. (You know what I'm talking about Neilo.) It felt that the game forum was becoming a religous debate forum.

I think the problem is that there are too many smart people who play galciv2 and use the forums!

(Smart people are less gulible and more secular, they question things)

Saying that there is a relationship between intelligence and secular thought is not only incredibly inflammatory, but also flies in the face of a little thing that I like to call documented history. WWW Link

The list of great scientists who openly professed a belief in a higher power is both long and noble, and were we to go into other fields of knowledge it would grow even longer.

Now I would rather this doesn't become another religious debate. But if you feel it necessary to voice your personal prejudices against a certain group of people then don't be surprised when they don't take it well and respond in defense.

Oh, and you misspelled gullible.

How ironic....

Note, the link I posted only highlights Christian thinkers. This was not meant to imply that one religion producers more or better thinkers, it was only meant to illustrate the point I was trying to make.

In any case, this thread seems to be a good example that the boards are still quite alive.

Oh i hear ya...it is my hope we have seen the last of those debates..no matter what way anyone feels, there is a place for those discussions and hopefully the hybrid cockroach-rat species will see to it that that place is not here......

Feud, correcting mis-spelling's.....Evil Stormbringer would be so proud.... But your point is valid, let's not label anyone anything...thats how those threads survive.

Well neilo, umm...as you may know, I just happen to be within spitting distance of Playjeff's burg (give or take 100 kilometers) and I could see that he receives the Fosters with possibly a small travel allowance (Aussie shiraz) thrown in as sort of "danger pay".

Sunday Morning   Black Coffee
How did I miss a religous post? The Mormons are trying to talk me out of the Modding area cause Drengin is still passed out on Hastings. They will come back for him later.
As for the question...(Cycles back through, checks everyones spelling mistakes) The forums are alive and kicking(out the bad off topic crap). Now were was that Irony Forum that went over Firebenders head.

Yeah, seeing as I have some of the worst spelling skills to ever befuddle man or beast it is kinda silly for me to point such things out. My excuse? It's my first day.
