Creating a Trade Federation w/the Yor Collection (I'm having hell doing it)

Good morning to my favorite forum!

Guys, I'm in the middle of wrapping up a long (3+ day) Medium match w/5 AIs of varying difficulty. The Drengin were set to one level above Bright and they were my main opponent for the first couple years. Talk about an uphill battle w/the Drengin = most awesome "war" I've had yet. They went Logistics in a big way early in the game while I snuck Med hull at the same time... next thing I know.. we're in a constant struggle for supremacy over the next couple years. I had weak Missles/decent Defense on Med hulled ships while they were staying with Small hulled ships couple w/advanced weaponry.

It was 'the' best war I've been in yet...
Anyhoot, I basically started this game out with Trading in mind. I would really like to figure out how to become a Trade Zar w/the Yor Collection, but I'm starting to think that the race simply isn't cut out for going ALL Trade (prolly cuz of my Evil alignment?...)

In the early stages of the game, I struck up an Economic/Research Treaty w/the Iconians who were close by... we stayed friends well into the game... but soon after I destroyed the Drengin, the Iconians became angry with me along with the couple other races in the galaxy. I was really surprised, because for close to 3 years, ALL races adored me (I was the most popular), and they had all previously joined in the fight against the Drengin, BUT as soon as I disposed of the Drengin, shortly after, the rest of the galaxy turned on me:

Thus ending ALL of my Trade and ending my E/R Treaties... I was baffled.... I was THE most popular race at the time, yet, (even with the races all being close with me) the other races turned on me in nothing flat.

I would like to be able to create the most badass Trade kingdom ever seen, and be able to maintain it at length... I want to be able to decide when wars start to break out/etc.

FYI: I had about 3/4 of the Diplomatic related techs researched by the time the Drengin finally met their demise by my hand. I figured those techs would be more than enough to sustain a healthy relationship with the races I was already 'SO' cool with.

Is it simply a fact that if one wants to go the Trade route as a major option, then said player needs to be as a Neutral or Good race?

I can't decide if I like Medium or Large maps more.... wow... two totally different experiences. One took me close to a week to finish while the other only took close to 4 days.

This game is fantastic!!!

One of the few disadvantages evil races have, is that they tend to be ganged up on. Remember the Drengins you defeated? Everyone ganging up on them? Guess where that came from ...

So I would say it is usefull to be a neutral or good race if you want trade to be your mainstay.

BTW: Which game lasts longer, medium or large maps? (Your post is not clear, here.)

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, so ThAt's what happened... they ganged up on me cuz I was Evil...

well crappers... I don't wanna play with anyone else, and I don't like the thought of having to vote on everything....

I wanna be Evil and be able to trade for years and years and years = great fun for me sitting there making lots of money abiding my time wisely until War is absolutely necessary.

I guess I'm wishing in one hand and shitting in the other

I was simply saying I can't make up my mind on which map size I enjoy more, Notger.
Medium and Large are definitely my favorite experiences so far though.

Let me ask this:

Is it possible to play as an Evil race w/ALL Diplomacy techs teched up AND keep other races from wanting to go to war with you or are the #s simply made up to where Evil races are doomed to be Traders no matter what?
