Nothing Working!!!!

Getting Desperate...All These Great Mods, and I'm Getting Zip!!!!

Dear Fellow Galactians:

Greetings from Canada!!! I hope this finds you and yours well. As for me, I could complain...yadda, yadda, yadda.

I'm greatly in need of your help!!! I'm loving all the mods I see in the Library to death, but not one is downloading the way it should. I've tried the Stargate Mod, Babylon 5, Star Trek...nothing is happening!!!!

If one of you kindly souls can help save my sanity, I'd great appreciate it. All ideas, notions, etc. will be gratefully appreciated!!!

Live long and prosper, take care and thank you kindly!!!!

Sincerely yours always,

Indy.

What exactly do you mean?

If you get a file with no extension on it, it means the author had a space in the filename. Just rename it back to a .zip file and you can open it.

Dear Kryo:

Good afternoon from Canada!! I hope this finds you and yours well.

I saw two that I would like, so far. One is for the Stargate, as in Stargate SG-1, and I found one for Babylon Five. Neither worked. What I mean was that I thought I went through the procedures, but nothing was happening.

Fear not, GalCiv2 isn't the only game with which I'm having this problem. I also play Medieval 2 Total War and Civilization IV that I would SOOOO love to mod, but I'm having the same luck--all bad.

You suggested that I turn it into a zip. I'm WinZip, the evaluation copy, but it doesn't seem to be doing its job, either. Got any suggestions in that regard? If I could download ONE MOD without all this horsin' around, I'd be a happy camper!!!!!

Live long and prosper, take care and thank you kindly!!!

Sincerely yours always,

Indy.

for one use 7zip you can find it at freeware files .com because winzip not all that great and also what version galciv2 are you useing.Because the mods you described will only work for DA and if you have 1.2 or higher.

Well, at least as regards the Babylon 5 mod, it isn't actually hosted here (the file on the library is just a placeholder giving the actual location in a text file).

Gentlemen:

Good evening from Canada!!! I hope this finds you and yours well.

Methinks a patch is in order. If so, where do I find said patch? I haven't patched this game since I bought it. Secondly, where in the game's files do I put said patch?

P.S. Where do I find the game's version?

The game version can be found in the bottom corner of he main screen, or by running Stardock Central.

As for Canada, in my Foreign Policy class there is a Canadian student. We kid around with him a lot, his usual reply is either "we burned down the White House" or "don't make us burn down the White House again".

Grab Stardock Central from the downloads page linked in the left sidebar of this page, install, log on, and register the game if you haven't already. Then just go to the Games section, select the game, and click the Update button.

If you're running a very old version (1.0), then that would explain the problems with mods--mod support was added in 1.2.

Yeah, well... we did do that.

I see you've built a new one; it's very nice.

Good afternoon from Canada!!! I hope this finds you and yours well.

As we now speak, I am downloading the 1.2 for Galactic Civs 2!!!! I did find one that was 1.4, but I figured that was overkill. I hear this patch also comes complete with a mod. I though, "Beauty!!!" Now, maybe I can get all those lovely mods I've been drooling over--like Babylon 5 and Star Trek. Gad, men would kill to have the USS Enterprise as their flagship!!!

P.S. I think whilst I'm at it, I'll download the last patch for Med II.

it wasn't burned down, just heavily scorched. that's why it's white now - no one was ever able to get the scorch marks out (before that it was called The Presidential Palace).

if you want to flaunt canada over the U.S., you could also point out the two failed invasion attempts.

Really you should be installing the 1.5 patch. The latest version contains many new features, bugfixes and tweaks.
