Drengin Empire Heavy Colonization? V1.8

Hello all,

I was just playing a large map in the latest v1.8 When I was moving along fairly fast with very slow research when all of a sudden the Drengin Empire Colonized a Heavy world in my space. I though this was weird being I've been trading technology with all empires up to this point and I haven't even got to even think about getting any of that technology yet because no one even has had extreme colonization available yet including myself. Here is the pictures.





Here it clearly shows the Drengin Empire Has not researched that technology yet and yet they have a Heavy planet in my space. Also Planet Invasion has not been researched yet by any empire as well so they couldn't have taken that planet over either. Please help. I have a saved game available after posibly before depending on if I had one or two turns after before I closed the game.

A civ won't list all of it's techs in the trade window. This is fairly easy to see when you have reached a high level of espionage with them, and compare what you find with what is offered in the trading window. So, it is very possible that the Drengin possess those techs, and just aren't showing them. Then again, who knows, it could very well be a bug.

Yeah I never heard of them not showing thier techs in the trade window, after all I can't hide my techs from them as long as the trading tech options is on in the game. If tech trading is off then I can't see thier techs. This game tech trading is on and I have traded plenty of techs already. Also I've noticed when in a game with high espionage level that when I steel a tech it is one that is displayed on thier list so I don't know what you are talking about sorry. Please help me to understand.

Do YOU have Heavy Gravity Colonization yourself? If yes, then it won't show up in their Tech list in the diplomacy screen because you can't buy it(you would already have the tech). To check, click on Viewscreen and choose Tech Report to see if they have it and aren't selling it to you.

I don't think he has it, it shows red on the planet screen as uninhabitable....so its a weirdness

Try using the Ctrl-Shift-Z cheat to check out what techs the Drengins have, and whether heavies are red/yellow/green from their point of view.

tried this nothing seemed to happen everything appeared to be the same as the picture above shows. No text box showed me any other info. do I have to do something to get this to work? Thank you.

You have to have cheat mode on (add cheat to the end of the shortcut's path), and you have to have a ship owned by the race you want to switch to selected when you do it.

okay I did add cheat to the end of the shortcut like on one of my other posts showed me however, this did not seem to work "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\GC2DarkAvatar.exe" cheat. I started the game with the shortcut and nothing happened as if I never enabled the cheat??? thanks for the quick response. I feel sorry for you not having anything else to do on a friday night

okay I tried it again. This is what I found out. In the metaverse game which this is the cheats appear not to work. When I started a new regular game/ non metaverse these cheats worked fine in fact I find it kind of intreging that this might be able to allow one to play them selves although time consuming.

Still I am at a loss on further figuring this out.
