How about the fact that the Yor, who are supposedly tireless robots, are in fact NOT the most industrious when compared to the Thalans. I mean, seriously, robots or insects?? I would think robots would build factories faster

To me robots seem to be the ultimate form of life, physically atlest. They don't breathe air, they can take alot of heat and cold, and they don't need sleep. In reality(ha) the Yor would be alot tougher than they are now. They should be like the replicators and have the ability to colonize all planets. They should also be immune to spore ships, they don't breathe air do they? (Unless of course the spores clog their systems) They probably don't feel pain either.

Yea and funny how the anomally that increases reproduction rates for biological creatures, also does for machines?? Oh and morale, what is happiness to the Yor?, Ok robot, are you happy with the current tax rate? "i dunno, i just deleted that unhappy file"

Tiny-hulled Freighters are kind of hilarious. When they establish a trade route, their mini freighter version is almost invisible on the galaxy map - and they have a crew of 2 people!

So maybe one pilot and one salesperson - and they manage to bring in billions of credits worth of profit.

Lol, I can see him already, with his suit and suitcase in the co-pilots chair.

Another inconsistancy is the fact that ALL planets start at a cap of 6B people. So that little rock you colonize that is toxic and has a PQ of 2 can hold just as many people as that massive utopia you find with a PQ of 28.

In all seriousness I kinda wish Stardock would tweak that, where starting population cap was dependent on the size of, or at LEAST the PQ of the planet.

Population Density mate! It all go's into them massive high rise residential towers, or they just wait until you get some terraforming tech so that PQ 2 is a PQ ~20!

Galciv1 had the right idea with planitary population - morale much better for better PQ and a continual morale drop for overpopulation that does not plateau for populations over 25b.
It had the effect of making good planets much more valuable than they are in DL or DA

Maybe, but I can think of two counter-arguments. First, organic life can be a very efficient "machine," when it has millions of years to evolve towards one adaptation like rapid breeding or high production. A beehive or ant colony is a lot more productive, at its own scale, than an automated Toyota factory.

Also, if the Yor have a culture, the culture itself may put limits on this. Maybe they don't want to change themselves past the original Yor blueprint, for fundamentalist religious reasons. If there actually was a constantly self-improving AI faction in the game, it would probably be unbeatable.

Huh? The borg a dumb fxxxers, they have zero technology rate and can only respond to situations like a brainless superbug attacks the body and adapts to antibiotics.

After you invade and conquer a planet with your troops, they just start multiplying the very next turn. Amazing! Instant baby making machines, those Marines can do it all!

I wonder if its still "Don't ask Don't tell" in the 23rd century.
