Note for Cari:

I've noticed this also, in the 1.7 betas.

Its just the texture file, not wrapped around a planet model.
Doesn't seem to be all planets. Maybe just the homeworld (or maybe just altaria).

I too have noticed this with the planet Mars showing as above. i thought it was supposed to be like that so havent sent it in.

Hmm...I haven't seen this at all.  Did you load a game and then start a new one or anything like that? 

 

 

no this is a new game. and this was a custom race taken from the Thalian Empire. So the Star is Named Thaila or whatever their star is called.

Hmm...well did you grab the update that we put up this morning? Can you see if it happens with 1.7 beta 3a as well?

I was wrong this was not fixed here is a picture from my latest game just started today in Beta 4. I used several custom races prior to this game using mulitple differant colors and finally settled on this one. This uses the Thalian Empire Template turned into a custom race.

I've also reported this to you cari, via PM and email, did you receive those?

Yes, I received the PM and e-mail.  I haven't seen this with Earth...Paul, can you send in your custom race also? Maybe that makes a difference.

Hi Cari. I just sent along an e-mail with a screenshot of the same thing. I am playing Beta 4- I don't remember seeing this in B3. The planet in question for me was Thala, so it isn't just a custom race problem, although it might be somewhere in the settings. (I did tweak the colors) I was going to send a savegame also, but when I loaded it up, the graphic was normal, so for me at least, quitting the game and reloading fixed the problem. Hope this helps. Cari i think it is just 1.8 doing it i had a game started in 1.7b4 that displayed the planets right and after reloading it in 1.8 they change and we a started new game it was like what you see in the pic the rest are showing !!!
