Bingjack's Desperate Pleas for Attention GC2 Gallery

[Edit] Changed thread title to something more fitting for an ongoing thread with various "re-imagined" Gal Civ subjects.

Not designing ships this time...I thought some people might get a kick out of this project I started like a billion years ago, and just took out of mothballs to use to get the hang of the new edition of Zbrush. It's a "re-imagined" Drengin "Shogun"...I wanted to make the Drengin more imposing looking to better suit their position as intergalactic heavies. I need to give him a "paintjob" and do the fine detailing work yet. I'll put the finished version up when it's done.

Do you work for any particular company doing this, or is it a hobby?

I really hate calling it a hobby.

No joke, this is better than 99% of the portfolio samples we get in      Great design and modeling work, Bingjack!

Ever thought of moving to the Plymouth, Michigan area?

They are something special, that's for sure.

Personally, I would really like replacement race portraits when it is complete.

Any plans for this type of improvement for the rest of the races?
Your work is phenomenal, to say the very least.

I was just speculating on a possible application. It would make a nice bit of chrome for a future "collector's edition" of the game.

For the effort expended, and for the quality received, Stardock should really offer to buy what Bingjack has to offer.

He is a great artist!

Woah! Nice!

Do the Terrans next! They look less Terran then Altarians.

Michigan is cold. Plus, it's easy to look good working for static imagery with unlimited polygons. Working with an animation mindset is much tougher. I'm sure I'd just embarrass myself. And Michigan is cold.

I did actually have several alternate renditions in mind, and the Yor and Altarians were at the top of the list. Sadly, Lord Kona is the only one to survive in the face of a dozen other personal projects. I can't say as to whether I'll ever be able to get around to them.

I am hugely impressed. Your Drengin is by far the most intimidating alien i've ever seen in any sci-fi, except maybe Darth Vader, but he is human (mostly) so he doesn't count

Its too bad you won't go to work for Stardock, and Michigan isn't cold! Northern Wisconsin is cold

That is a beautiful creation man. Kudos!

Do Terrans next. I hate that Alan Bradley. He is too ugly and unrealistic looking to be a leader. I've seen more realistic action figures.

Just got back to this again after another project. Here's a preview of the paintjob...gives it a little bit of life. Not really a finished piece til I get around to to giving him a bit of a setting and doing something really polished. But that might be a while...seeing as i've done the Drengin, the next logical piece is the Korath, and I've got inspiration...
