Problem with DreadLord campaign?

Are there any issue with the playing the Dreadlords campaign with the fix 1.70. I notice some graphic clipping and the tech tree seems very limited. For example only laser and armor tech are available. Missiles and massdrivers are no where to be found. Was this intended?

It is my understanding that it is intended. As you start the campaign there are only certain techs available in the first missions, and this expands as you go deeper into the campaign. I have only been playing for a little over a month so I am not an expert though.

In both the Dread Lord and Dark Avatar scenarios, your available tech tree will vary in each episode. It's by design.

Ok, I figured as such. It's kind of weird to see astroid mining still as an option. But then that wasn't added until DA.
