unable to update dark avatar or dread lords

says can't verify serial and or email

hey everybody i've never posted here before so forgive me if this has already been covered I couldn't find it . . . i've been unable to get any updates for dread lords for some time (approximatyely a month after 1.4 patch if memory serves) i've tried troubleshooting my end and have found no problems. I've tried it thru the game menu and stardock central but it sends me to the purchase game screen then freezes. Anyways I love this game so I bought gold edition to get dark avatar and also because I figured there was maybe a glitch with my installation not allowing me to update or something but after reinstalling with new disc same problem. With Dark Avatar i'm also unable to update but it gives me the error "Serial Number and/or email address invalid" but my email in stardock central is correct and i've tried entering this serial number about a thousand times a dozen different ways caps, lowercase, dashes, dashless etc . . . I'd really like to buy twilight of the arnor but it's not happening if I can't even play the updates for DL & DA anyways i'll be thankful for any support from stardock or tips from fellow GC2 lovers . . . thank you for reading and sorry about the grammar lol

yea it does that allot. I don't know why Stardock wan't to offend customers by designing programs that tell them valid serial codes are invalid?? but they do.

I purchased DA months ago and was prevented from downloading it because my serials were all seposedly invalid. Perhaps i will get round to continue dogging Stardock for a sollution but i got fed up before and havn't gotten back to it yet. It should just work in the first place!

Have you tried to contact [email protected] ?

That is strange: if you have bought DA without GC2, that means it was online. And in that case, a copy and paste from the e-mail send by Stardock with your serial id should have work.

I know it is stupid, but have you tried to use SDC to do a lookup on your serial numbers?

Smoreo you could also try the chat option in SDC. This will open in the correct window and all you need do is ask for assistance there. Milksama or one of the other tech people will be glad to assist you.

Yes you would think so! I even did the resend serial option twice! All the serials i recieved in the emails for DL and DA were also all invalid, and i tried reinstalling SDC but that just made things worse since it then decided my original valid serial for DL is invalid, along with the resend serials. Everything is invalid, it is rediculous!
I am beginning to wonder if SDC can regognise any serial numbers at all?? perhaps it can only say "invalid" no matter what you do?

I don't know how that could work! i mean isn't the whole point of SDC is to prevent pirating? so i don't know why it would tell me what serial numbers it thinks i should have?

Mystikmind, have you tried working through it with support rather than dismissing them entirely because the initial suggestion didn't work out? You're really doing yourself a disservice if you don't--support would gladly help if you give them a chance.

Yes i'm sure your right Kryo, it is just one of those things i personally found exceptionally irritating - being told serial codes are invalid when you know they are valid, it kinda inspires feelings of justing wanting to smash SDC and set it on fire! Anyway, normally any other kind of problem would not cause me to react in such a way, SDC happened to press my buttons thats all. My apologies

Manually update your serial by using the Dark Avatar launcher. Then update the game. worked for me.
