Couple of questions

from GalCiv2 Forums
First; I've read that minors were once able to colonize, but it was turned off due to complaints. Ok, how do I turn it back on? Minors with only a homeworld are far too weak.
Second; Is there a way to change a planet's type? Say Mars to a barren planet?

Actually you should be able to mod Mars to be of a special type via the PlanetType value in CustomPlanets.xml.

To clarify what I meant to do, I intended to boost Earth's class from 10, to 13 or 14, while converting mars to a barren class 4 world, preserving balance somewhat by making Mars unuseable until barren world colonization could be researched.
I know how to change Mars to and make it unusable totally, but I was hoping to delay it's use instead of removing it completely.
Unfortunately changing the class is all I know how to do, hence my question.

IIRC You'd need to add <PlanetType>Barren</PlanetType> to Mars's definition.
