Trade Goods Question

Newbie question on trade goods. If you build a trade good, do you always retain its benefits?

If you include it in a diplomacy trade, do you retain the benefits? Is the supply unlimited such that you can trade with all of your allies, or just with one other race?

Thanks

Yes, you do. When you trade it, you are actually just giving them permission to build it also.

A simple question sure enough, but what if.....;

Do you retain the benefit of a tradegood if the planet it was built on gets given to or taken by another race?

Do you retain the benefit of a trade good if it is destroyed?

Do you retain the benefit of a trade good you bought from somone else if that race is destroyed? or if that trade good is destroyed?

If you take an AI planet with a trade good on it, does that AI race loose the benefits of the trade good? Do the races it sold the trade good too loose the benefits?

Well, I don't know the answer to all of those, but I did experiment with destroying the colony that I had used to build several trade goods. Kept the abilities!, but I've never used the technique for real...because up until then I had not realized that destroying the colony left you with a PQ0 world!

Thats interesting! Usually if it looks like i'm going to loose a planet, i will give it to whatever race will cause the most disruption. However if i destroy the colony then no one can have it!

That's my memory of why my enthusiasm for the line of reasoning waned after the test. I need to check the PQ0 thing again...since I have now foolishly asserted it to every expert on the forums.

Yes, it is true.

Use the convenient 'Destroy colony' button to make all that lovely real estate into PQ0.

Works on your homeworld, too, and also on your last held planet. Sort of like going postal on a galactic scale.
