How to increase text size in GalCiv II?

Font too small!

I was wondering if anyone had any tips on playing CalCiv II from the couch. I don't mean control. I've got a great wireless keyboard/mouse and setup for gaming from my couch and play HL2 and such games all the time. I've got a big 1080p LCD TV connected to a powerful HTPC (SLI 2x8600GTX) however I am forced to use 1028x768 resolution so I can see the text. Its such a big waste. I want to play it at 1920x1080.

On the PC I have desktop fonts set to 200% DPI but it doesn't effect the game. So does anyone have any idea how I can increase the game's font size? Thanks!

Sorry, there's no option to change the font size in the game. You'd need to mod the UI files directly to accomplish that (not really worth it for the amount of work that'd take).

Thanks for the reply, I am sorry to hear that. Does anyone have any tips on somehow being able to play this game from my couch at 1920x1080? Maybe some hacks or something? Its painful playing this game at 1024x768.

I would try to run the game at 1440*768 resolution by editing the prefs.ini.

768 is the lowest possible horizontal resolution for galciv2 iirc.

And by by using 1440 horizontal you would use the fulls width of your screen with a correct ratio.
