Gauntlet's Race Mod 5 (Hey Drengin)

Hi, I was hoping a few people might chime in about my Race Mod and the upgrade package. I am now working on the fifth version of the mod, and wanted to talk about what is planned.

100 race images (I'm at 80 so far)
100 race logos (the current total is 75)
50 total minor races
25 custom races
-----each with a ship set, custom homeworld, and some with custom planet textures.
-----new dialogue from the aliens, probably an extra 5 dialogue sets if possible (Daleks!)

New idea; minor race special techs/buildings.
Basically give certain minor races techs that are impossible to research, so that the player when invading their planets may indeed luck out and capture it. These techs would obviously fit each race I give it too.

Major Concern; should I wait for the next expansion?

Major Concern; the ship sets... do people like them? do they work, have I prevented stupid AI component placement? Should I bother making 11 more?

Fun idea! If you have your own custom race using my mod you could send it to me and have it included... ?

MAJOR CONCERN: This will go over the size limit on this site, how do I package this? 2 installments, or just link to my own host? Or can I get permission for more space via stardock?

Well I hope people reply, I'm really happy with making this mod and I want to make a final version that will knock socks off.

First of all I love your mod. I enjoy using Asgaurd ships.
Iuse this mod with a few others.MakeOver is one along with,pants_abilities_new_1.1,
pants_bulk_freighters, pants_invasion_1.0, pants_political_parties_1.1, RMAnomaly,

techtree1220060, The_Starbase_Modules_Patch. I would love to see version 5. It would
bring more enjoy mit to my game. As far as waiting until next expansion that would
be totally your'e call. Eather way I would dounlaod it asap.

I don't have a bad word for you work.
I have to agree that the Asgard ship style looks great.
My only wish would be that the Terran sovereignty race ship style was perhaps somewhat Warhammer 40K Imperium in style... I'm terrible at ship design, and seem to fail everytime I try.

Will be great to have a minor with some unique techs, makes attacking or protecting them from attack much more involved.

Don't wait for the expansion, give us this release at least

hahaha excellent an opinion.

glad to hear the asgard are liked... sorry to hear you don't absolutely worship my Terran Sovereignty ships haha!

PS- Do the AI place the ship components fairly rationally on these designs... believe it or not, but I havn't actually sat and played for longer than about an hour in well... since I started this mod lol

Since I've been using your mod, i've not used any default races... your races seem to offer a harder game, even on lower levels. The Asgard seem to be masters of taking huge chunks of the galaxy.

I don't mind the TS ship style, I just think an Imperium of man from 40K would suit them better. lol

As for part placement... not sure, becuase I've got your mod mixed in With UDF, General Pants, and other similar mods. even with them, i've not seen anything dodgey.

sounds like its working good enough then, and Im happy to hear that you like the races... the Asgard tend to take allot of space, but then get it taken away lol

its that big speed bonus they have

UPDATE:

So I've been playing too much Sins of a Solar Empire to mod much; I am reinstalling the game and planning on playing with earnest this recent 1.7 patch, in the mean time I just finished up to portrait 85... when i play I will play with a human race and build/design a new ship set that will be similar to Halo's UNSC.... Yeah i read the other thread, I have been on a Halo 3 kick too, so I see no reason not to throw in some UNSC ships lol.

Who knows maybe I can rig up a covenant ship set too.
