Just got the game and im enjoying it tremendously. However I do have a question. The other civs seem to keep on allying with eachother instead of for instance waring eachother. The Yor and Drengin have been exterminated by the Alterians. I hate the constant peace in the galaxy, how do I create strife between the other civs?

Talk to them in the Diplomacy screen. Give them something to go to war.

Better: Play the Altarians - as soon as so attacks you - everyone attacks the bad boy... (well almost)

I can't make them declare war on eachother because they are all allied.
ObjectDock - Access shortcuts and frequently used applications from an animated dock.

Thats odd, I dont think i've even had the AI players form an alliance.

to cause strife, i guess you'll have to get a civ thats not in the alliance to declare war.

k. The AI players have formed alliances during my previous two games. Getting kinda of annoying that they are all allied.

if you can't beat 'em... can you at least join them? i know, theres no strife in that.

How do you get your relationship above friendly? Give them stuff?

is friendly before or after warm?... giving stuff can get you upto the last realationship before CLOSE, but it will not get you close. Close is what you need to form an alliance. There are a few old posts on this, but vasically, you need to have a strong military. thats top. besides that having trade routes and treaties helps, mostly you should check under foreign relations. Under the picture of the AI player there is a list with + and -. these will tell you whats causing your current relationship. Get more + and fewer -. Some you just cant get rid of.

having the ability to smash another civ is a sure way to make them want to be youyr friend.
