Custom Race Question! (Please help)

Hey I did a search on the forums to see if I can find this and I couldn't so I'm sorry if this question has already been answered.
When making a custom race you get to pick racial bonuses and stuff with 10 points total. Is there a way to change how much those bonuses cost or a way to change how many points you get to customize the races? I am talking about doing this in Dar Avatar if that makes any difference. If you know of a way please tell me. Thank you very much.

Actually if you have DA and you're starting from the "Custom Race" race, you should have 15 to spend. Anyway, you can change that amount by modding the <CustomizationPoints> value in RaceConfig.xml.

On a related note, I'm curious - has anyone ever modified a race's base stats to match the AI races' insane bonuses at suicidal level?

What bonuses precisely would that be, for that matter?

I'm thinking this might be fun for kicking around the galaxy next sandbox game I play... which will probably be the TA beta, if we are allowed to play it.

the TA beta, if we are allowed to play it.

IIRC, there won't be a public beta for TA.

I have a problem that I hope someone will be able to help me with. Whenever I try to change the CustomizationPoints value in RaceConfig.xml, the game ignores my changes and keeps telling me that I only have 10 customization points to place...If I change any of the other values, the game shows the changes correctly. Does anyone have any idea how to force the game to recognize a value different from 10 or 15 in the customization points field ?

Manually inputting the different race abilities just results in a negative value being displayed in red in the game where the number of available customization points are displayed (value with all abilities enabled is -82).

I have enabled mods (of course) and placed the modified RaceConfig.xml file in the mods\default\data folder.

Now, I know I must be doing something wrong, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is.
