Stardock Central! Grrrr...

I have the same problem. GalCiv2.com is so slow that I spent hours on just buying the product. Stardock Central is a total crap, I can't download anything, because it is trying to download something for the first time only. Why the **** I had to download 10MB SDC, if I have to download additional shit anyway? btw. it took me about one hour to download SDC, with avg. 2KB/s. I've fast 6Mbit adsl connection, and average speed 300kB/s for 99% of download sites.
Stardock? it is time to respond!!!

Damn, it's even worse. I've never seen so bad application design. After another hour, trying to download some initial stuff (for the first time only), SDC displayed a message stating that the information can't be downloaded (check your connectivity to the internet DD). Crap... I couldn't believe it!!! Anyway, SDC started - finally, and now it's just unresponsive. Every single piece of this software is crap. Whenever I go (games, apps, etc...) it's downloading something, and is never finishing it. What's worse, is that I can't close it, the X button is just not working, neither Exit command.
Crap, I tell you... crap

I just tried for the third day and it got to 96% and crashed...it took 10.5 hours to get there...only the 251 MB expansion pack. I don't have problems anywhere else. I will ask for a refund. With all the emphasis on being responsive to the users and touting the lack of copy protection there sure is a serious problem with getting the product I've already paid for.

Please offer a straight download, even if copy protection is necessary. Stardock Central...well, it sucks.

I have to agree. I don't understand how every other gaming software company offers a direct patch download from their websites, or SOMEBODY offers it, but this SDC is beyond ridiculous. And piracy is just a cop-out. What the hell would I want with a patch if I hadn't already PAID for the game? I think Stardock has been rubbing elbows with Microsoft a little too long. This game is pretty much close to useless without a sane way to update it, especially when the new update offers an entirely new graphics engine!!!!!!! What....the....EFF Stardock? Pull your head outta your asses and do things like the other 99% of the industry.

SDC is complete piece of crap. I haven't played GC2 for months, come back to look for the latest patch and find this mess. What the hell?? Stardock has just droped to the lowest scale in my opinion. F the latest game expansion, and to think that I was going to go buy it this weekend.

If anyone is having issues downloading, you should first contact [email protected]. Or just try it again now, then contact support it it still won't work (there were some server issues over the weekend, though I'm not sure if SDC was affected). There have also been some apparent issues with International download speeds, but if you're in North America it should be fine now.

You guys are lucky! i cannot even initiate the download for DA after buying it some months ago. SD Central insists the serial codes are invalid, but not only that, after reinstalling SD Central, it decided that my previously valid serial for DL is now invalid as well!

I'm in North America and still having a problem dl'ng Dark Avatar expansion pack. Strangely all the rest of GalCiv2 dl'ed fine but DA is crawling along. Tried rebooting, logging out and in of SDC but no changes.

Am I to understand that I'm stuck using this stardock central garbage if I want to play this game? Man I feel scammed. I hope they are enjoying my money while I deal with this mess. Why the hell can't I just download the game?
