Game Crashes, Doesn't Respond

Hi all, having a bit of a problem here... Game freezes suddenly midplay- initially the screen goes dark except for the cursor and a small square around it... Upon reloading the savegame, the game crashes and gives the standard "apologies for the inconvenience" message...

Here's the debug log:

1.0 is seriously out of date. Install StarDock Central and update to 1.5 (for Dread Lords).

Additionally, you should run the game at the same resolution as your desktop (1280x1024). Problems occur on some systems when you try running the game fullscreen at a lower resolution.

In addition to all the above:

"Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)
Physical Memory: 510MB RAM
Page File: 290MB used, 4276MB available"

Your machine uses an Intel P4 chip with Hyper-Threading technology enabled in the BIOS.
Your set-up does not conform with the recommended settings for this configuration.

You should consider:

a) Reducing the amount of 'Virtual Memory' to the size recommended (1.5 times the physical memory)

b) Installing more physical RAM

c) Moving your pagefile from your C:/ Drive to one that is not accessed as part of the main operation of your PC. (Buying a small hard drive just for virtual memory will increase your performance significantly.)

d) disabling the Duo-Core in the BIOS set-up

Please remember that all duo-core technology (Original P4 HT and the current Pentium D based duo-core,) are still only a single processor. Having such a huge disparity between the physical memory available to this processor and the virtual memory it has at its disposal will hinder your performance not help it.

In summary, buy more RAM.
