Hi all and welcome to round 2 of the Metaverse League. I think round 1 was a success and we can only do better from here. For those reading about the MV League for the first time, please see the threads at the bottom of this post for any information you need and please feel free to sign up and play, we would love to have you.

Our main goal with the league is to create a new way of playing the game and being competitive without the need to be able to get those super large scores. If we can get enough people playing we just might see the MVL get recognized as a viable method of playing and scoring which would lead us to another goal, that of having Kryo incorporate the MVL into the Altmeta. So anything we can do to promote the League and get more players interested will be greatly appreciated. I do believe that by ironing out a few kinks and showing the community that the League is, viable, here to stay and uniquely different that we might create a whole new way of playing GalCiv II.

A few tweaks to the rules and scoring.

No longer will "random anything" be in my selection process when it comes to planets, stars, etc...

I have tweaked the scoring a little based on a few suggestions. If we don't like it we can change back.

3,2,1 for fastest games, to be determined by submission time if there is a tie.
(get your games in quick guys)

-1 for the lowest scoring game

It is now 0 for a defeat, no penalty.

I can't think of anything i may have missed, i did troll the league threads looking for other suggestions. If i missed something we were going to implement please let me know.

Onto the round 2 setting's,

A military conquest on a small map with 7 opponent's.

Habitable planet's - common
Number of planet's - common
Number of Star's - abundant
Star density - tight
Anomalies - uncommon
Asteroids (DA) - rare
Tech rate - very slow

Disable tech trading
Disable Blind exploration
Enable Mega events (DA)
Disable Super Abilities (DA)

Of course all victory conditions must be enabled and all else is up to you.

Whoa, *seven* opponents! That's, like... TWICE as many as I usually play on small! And with tight clusters and only common planets/habitables, there'll likely be less planets than I'm used to as well. And no major cash flow from anomalies either... seems like a challenge!

Did we get a yes/no on whether minors are counted as opponents, or are up to 'free choice'?

Sorry, Minors in DL are not changeable, so to be fair for DA users please select random minors. This way it keeps it in line with DL which is random by default.

TP Scott, As a member of the Crusaders, You are not allowed to resign quit or any thing else. I am not that great of a player either. That is why it is a team effort and we work together. I do believe that we kicked major ass in the last round with your help.

Team A you say. Well we could use some competition, Maybe with their new player it might, maybe, but I doubt it. Team D I believe is the team to watch this round. I for one am having some problems and may have to consult with team members for a little help.
Maybe if I buy a round of good cold Canadian beer, some of the other guys on other teams will give me some pointers

Use the all Entertainment building strategy. Your citizens will be so happy they won't care about getting wiped out, kind of like thorsene

A quick note. TP Scot has asked to become the official VP of the Commissioner's office, to aid me in the compiling of scores at the end of each round. I have said i am fine with this, and as long as there are no objections from the other leaguer's so shall it be.

Basically he will post the results at the end of the round like he did at the end of round 1 with the wording "Provisional Results of Round #". I will double check the submittion's adjust the ladder and post in the same manner i did before.

I am happy with this, how about you guy's?

It sounds pathetic now. I'm less willing to do it now. But still willing.

And I didnt "ask". You said "looks like we have two official Vice Commishioners, TP Scot and MumbleFratz..."

I assure you, folks, it didn't sound pathetic before.

And I prefer to be thought of as Senior Executive Vice Commishioner or if thats too long, then partner (to neilo) or just Commishioner will do.

Hey, I had to check everyone manually.   It gets confusing after a while. I have to check the results thread and then write the scores and everything on a notepad. Then open the post with the rules. Rate everyone's submittion by the rules in the Metaverse League thread. Find a roster with team players (neilo's reply NO#70 in the player sign up thread). Arrange them in their teams. Add the MV league points and THEN make the results thread with all your banners and all that jazz. It gets kinda confusing.

Sounds good to me.

One thing to think about as we go along and it looks like this will be successful, is for folks to "encourage" Kryo into adding some kind of support for the League into the AltMeta. Perhaps it's time to rouse the MV Council from it's slumber. Perhaps after I post this round's game.

I think I've mentioned it a few times however the more encouragement the better.
