OCC Skin

Okay here is a question for some of you skinners out there. I have been itching for a WB OCC/American Chopper skin. I woudl try this myself but seeing as to how i haev absolutely no skinning ability i have failed more times than i care to mention.

I only ask if someone is willing to try this type of theme cause i am a big fan of OCC. Their bikes are the best and their abilties are even better. Paulie Jr has made some of the best looking bikes out there and i think it would be a great idea to show some of this in a skin.

I knwo this isnt a easy task. But i think it would be worth it. Have some of the new effects that WB6 has to offer with the blurred borders and all that.

All in all i would like to know what others think of a idea like this. I knwo some of hte greats out there could accomplish this. From Vstyler to adni18 who have made soem of the the greatest skins i haev seen to date.

I remember another skinner, essencay, that asked them for permission to do a theme. I don't think he had any success. I suppose it doesn't matter if it is a free theme but it would suck to find out that they object after making a skin. If the skin looked bad, it might reflect poorly on them.

I wnat to make a Harley Davidson skin but am hesitant for the same reasons.

They may be some of the coolest looking bikes out there but they are not well made. Alot are not rideable. They are really for show. I had a show bike (Bouget) and it was useless. I am more of a rider than a looker. Guess it wasn't a good match for me.

I have had many bikes in the past. I have 2 Harley's now and I can say that they aren't the best built bike on the road either, so don't think I am knocking OCC. They are good at what they do but they don't build the highest quality bike out there.

It all depends. Some of their theme bikes are for show. But they ahve done quite a few episode that are also based off bikes that are for riding. Like the 5 episodes where they did Fan bikes. Those were for riding. Plus the few episodes where they did the Production Bikes.

Most of the bikes now are made for riding. They have included speeodometer, signals and all the rest of the stuff to make them street legal. Even the Intel bike that they did recently was street legal that way.

The first couple of season yes they were about show. But now they have gotten to the point where they know that they can just do that. They ahve to make them ridable cause of the fact that people dont want to spend over $100,000 on a bike that they cant do anythign with.

It just sucks that a theme cant be done.

**One man's opinion**

I used to watch that OCC show religiously ... I'm in OZ, and without trying to come accross as biased, I have to say that those boys do cut a lot of corners when it comes to bike building. We have specialist builders here that would put them to shame.

OCC does make for fun viewing, but I certainly wouldn't be buying one of their bikes [if I could even afford one...] ...and especially not at the [now, because of their fame] overly-inflated prices they're asking.

Apart from the thankyou's you see the boys getting on the shows ....you never see a follow-up episode, or proof that the purchaser is still happy, six months down the track.

BTW ...there's a great OCC wallpaper here in the walls gallery at WinCustomize. Do a search for 'OCC' or 'Orange County Choppers' ...I think you'll be pleased. Damned fine wall, as I recall...

It will be worth the wait.. if you cant find anything similar...


ohhh ps...before we get into copy right issues and stuff, its mostly going to be skulls, flames,metal and kick ass colours...i wont be using any images..if i do, it will be my OWN work....

Yeah, but Kitty, I don't think he was after a gothic theme loosely based around Chopper Reid's life.
