How do I get v1.6???

I just purchased GCII at my local store and installed it. Found out I have v1.5 and there is a v1.6 out, but I cannot figure out how to get the patch. I've had absolutely no success with Stardock Central as it doesn't recognize my serial number. I found a similar page on this Web site that says it also doesn't recognize my serial number, yet I am giving it a valid number on the back of my jewel case and it registered just fine. When I ask Stardock to send me an e-mail with my registration information in it I get the same number back, but still no luck. What am I doing wrong? How do I get the update?

Thanks!

What exactly does SDC say when you try to register it there?

This may sound odd, but you may need to actually cut and paste the number that SDC gives you. Even if its the exact same number.

Actually, I had the exact same problem, though reached it differently. I had a bootleg copy I was test driving; knew after my second game I was hooked, so bought it, and was unable to use the serial number I received in the e-mail. Or rather, the program accepted the serial number, but not Stardock Central. I e-mailed for help, and support sent me a password, much shorter in length, and bingo! I was in business.

I did have their Demo copy installed first and thought when I installed that it would install over the top of the old. It did not, so I uninstalled the demo and am still running the full version. The program has always accepted the number, but not Stardock Central. I have tried cut-and-paste the number from the e-mail they sent me and I get the same results.

It says, "The Serial Number you have entered is invalid. Please ensure the information you have entered matches exactly from your order email. Use the Lookup Serial Number button to resend your account information to the email address you ordered under."

I tried following the instructions, and I did a cut-and-paste from the e-mail it sent me. No go.

I tried pasting the 30 (thirty) character-long serial too and had no luck, with or without dashes. The support e-mail instead gave me a PASSWORD (not a serial) that is 8 (eight) characters long and which SDC accepted without a hesitation.

Please do contact [email protected], in that case.
