The General Pants Jewl Mod

I downloaded the mod, extracted it to thee default folder, and all the data is there but when I start a small game to test them out they didn't show up in the extras section in the shipyard. I wonder if it has something to do with the other mod I dowloded, the GP political Parties, but his mads seem to organize themselves, so I don't think that's it, can someone help a poor noob?

Did you select the mod via the change directory option in game, check the 'enable mods' box, and restart the game?

Hmm, those mods don't really have folders, some how they both go to the same folders in the default mods directory when extracted so i don't really know.

If I were to extract each mod to different folders within the default one would it work?

There are planty of Sub-folders in the Default Mod folder. If the mods you downloaded do not have any folder structure you will have to put the files by hand in to the according subfolders of your Default Mod Folder.

To find out what file of the mod belongs to which folder you probaly need to take a look at the Readme of the mod.

For Example the Models and Textures (.X and .PNG files) will go to the Gfx/Models subfolder. If both of your mods habe them, both go to the Gfx/Models of the Default mod folder - you basicly creating a mix from the two or more mods... This works fine as long as the mods do not have Duplicate files creating conflicts.

All of GPs latest mods readme just say "extract to your favorite mods folder". Umm, a little more instruction would be nice for us noobs.

This obviously assumes you have got to the point where you have put mods into the game.
If you haven't, go to the DA mod folder, copy and paste the folder in there called "default" and rename it to something else, and then copy and paste everything in GP mod into the renamed copy of default. In the renamed folder there will be a file called moddescription. Open it with notepad or something similar, and there will be some text, with the name as default or something. Just rename that to the same as what you named the overall folder.

Load up the game, make sure you have the options set to check for mods, and you should see your newly added named copy of "default" but with GP's stuff activated.

I know it's a very quick and perhaps not to clear description of what to do, but if you have a gander about the mod folder, it should make sense. I sussed it out pretty quick without asking anyone... the game really is quite simple to mod. But as you can tell, people are always happy to help.

As long as the mods dont share certain files, you can mix them. otherwise you'd have to cut bits out of one file and paste them into the other. And that doesn't mean it will work well.

The fun thing with this game is that it's easy to mess around with, and you always learn something.
