Can't Update Civ2 or Dark Avatar.

I keep running this "Stardock Central" Application, finding my games via the menu, and clicking Update (not Update Later), and NOTHING happens.

Download Manager is empty.

Serial Numbers are all correct.

It just goes away and thats it. :/

I just wanna play. But instead I want to take a double-barreled plasma cannon to it.

SDC is crashing then, you mean?

Not crashing, just not doing anything.

It loads fine, finds my games and displays them and the size of files that are due to update on them.

The GalCiv 2 and DA are checked.

I click "Update Now" and the window goes away (the lil box showing what needs to be updated)

But the 48+ MB of files do not download.

Oddly, I have updated in the past both GalCiv2 and DA, but after taking a break from playing them, I wanted to play DA again for the changes. But I'll be damned if I can figure out what keeps them from updating.

I have rebooted, too.

When I needed to update DA 1.6 beta to the final 1.6, I had trouble when selecting "Update Now". Only when I clicked "Update Later" and then manually selected the updates, did the downloads finally proceed! If that does not work try refreshing the XML file in SDC. Good luck!

You got me thinking....

So I uninstalled Stardock Central, then deleted the folder.

Then reinstalled Stardock Central.

No change.

Also - I can not find a manual download/update for GalCiv games anywhere in Stardock Central. The only place I see updates at all are in "Check for Application Updates" and "View Application Updates" which bring up exactly the same thing. The window that goes no where.

Pfft.

I found the problem - somehow - somewhere along the line - my "Games" Category became unchecked on the left side.

Clearly not idiot proof
