Patch 1.6/1.61 download

Is there any way to download these patches without using Stardock Central? I am only able to use shared computers to connect to the internet, not my own. When I log in to galciv2.com and select downloads, the newest patch I can find is the straight GalCiv2 1.4, nothing about Dark Avatar. Thanks a lot.

No, sorry.

Do note though that even if you cannot install games on the computers you access the internet with, if you can at least install SDC, you can download the entire latest version of the game without installing it, and copy the package to a disc or USB drive to carry home.

I do not have admin rights on the computers I can get on the internet with, so thus NO I cannot install SDC. Next option, please.

Requiring internet access to download a patch for a game that is not online only is crap. I love the game like I loved GalCiv1, and I expected better from the makers of these games. I will continue to buy and play games they make, but I am very disappointed in their lack of support for those of us without a constant internet connection.

????? how would you get a patch if you haven't access to internet ??????

But I understand the problem of patching DA on an offline computer . You must understand that originally, DA was being sold only online. So originally, if you were able to get DA, you were able to patch it. But that theory doesn't work very well when GC2 Gold has been made available on retail.

You did not understand. He has an internet connection, but on a computer, where he has no administrator rights and so he cannot install anything. A download client that does not need to be installed can help him or the possibility to download a patch using a web browser.

Looks like I forgot some smileys... Read his sentence again: patching any game requires an internet access from one way or another.

Yes, and so that I am clear, I have access to a computer, but not one where I have admin rights and can install anything. Therefore, I can't install SDC and get the patches from there. And to say it again, I am not able to connect my computer, where the game is installed, to the internet.

If anyone has any kind of download link or website hosting for just the patches, the latest one for Dread Lords and the latest one for Dark Avatar, I would really appreciate them.

Sorry, there is no standalone version of these patches, so you won't find any such site legally.
