Question about AI using ship templates

I would like to make some templates intended to be used by AI opponents. For this i hope someone who have done this before, or who just happens to know, could share some information I know i could try it out, but it would take time and i figure, since many have done templates before, someone has to know this stuff

1.) Is there a way to know, which hardpoints the AI will use to attach the components ? (I know how the hardpoints are chosen, if i add components by doubleclick, so basicly i could make predictions - BUT - does the AI choose hardpoints the same way ??)

2.) Does the AI scale different components to different sizes ? Or is a default scale used all the time ?

3.) Whatever the answer to 2.) is... How does the AI decide or what is the default scale ?

PS. I had some trouble creating the post - i believe i may have produced a doublepost or something... If so - i am sorry about this, and please answer here and delete the other one

I believe so.

I think the AI will just use the default size for parts, but there have been some instances where people have reported them being extra big. I believe that was a bug or at least unintended, though.

I've dealt with this-

The AI will place the same type of component in teh same spot of the same size...

Preferably you should design all of your ship designs with a race that has 25% miniturization bonus... and you will need designs for each ship hull, and then extras for every type of cargo ship type... spore ships etc.
