Favorite Race.

Yes I know, everyone has there own favorite race based on the races stats, but what I'm wondering is which race is your favorite based on the race itself, their story. For me, I like the Yor. Robots don't have any feelings, any second-thought, their desicions aren't clouded like the livings'. The feel no fear either, so they make excellent fighters. Being one with machines, they are masters of building. If one is destroyed another thousand can take its place!

Yor for me as well. I've always been a fan of people making machines that turn on their creators. Or actually, any creation, machine or organic, turning on their creators.

I like the Yor. Exterminate all organic lifeforms!

I belive you mean "EX-TER-MIN-ATE!" (sorry, huge Doctr Who fan, and the Yor remind me of the Daleks for some reason.)

Anyways, my favorite race is a costom race I made, the Assryian Star Imperium. (Mouthful, isn't it?) Their story goes like this: Thousands of years brfore they took to the stars, they were at war with a reptilian race known asa the Ha'taks. It quickly became genocidal, and eventualt the Assyrains won, but the cost of vicory was high: the complete extermination of the Ha'taks. Or so they thought. They discovered an opposed tribe of Ha'taks known as the Skathalet, and took them in as equals. Now, in thier galactic emergence, they hope to redeem themselves for what thier ancestors did all those years ago.

P.S.: If costom races don't coun't, I'd say the Korx. Why? They're living proof of what can go wrong when you mix criminals and capitalisim.

Thalans.

They're just cool. I think it's how mistyrius (spelling??) they are, or just the point that they're a race of huge insectiods! I find most things that are out of the ordinary (not tooooo far out) fascinating.

Maybe it's just because I get bored of the same old things. Some of the other civs were a little too ordinary.

I like the Thalans most too atm. But that's mainly because they really support my game-style. Not sure if I could have won my games at obscene that easily with any other race. Now at suicidal I struggle more, but I should be fine - and I had a relatively crappy start and tough opponents.

Arceans! They are "Super-Warriors". Which just rocks. They are like a whole race of Chuck Norris descent.

My favorite is the Drath Legion. They have a sad back-story, and yet they are still good. They have excellent racial bonuses, and the idea of a manipulative race of beings capable of exercising an uncanny power of persuasion pleases the control-freak inside of me.

Yes. Though I played one game as a good-aligned custom race to whom I gave the spore ability. Because that seemed even more evil.

Yet you have an Altarian icon with your sig, which is ironic, yet funny.

Yeah, that's a relic from a more civilized age. My gameplay took a turn toward the dark side around December/January when that whole series of game updates began which either broke the number of available planet tiles or degraded various game features that I liked. Besides being cathartic, evil makes for a scrappier, more edge-of-the seat game (at least for the first two or three game years), which I enjoy. I also like playing the Altarians as an evil faction, so I think I'll keep that icon for a while.

Ya those spore ships are pretty cool, I don't like using them with Yor (my favorite race) though, otherwise their soldering bonous is forfeit, but I like having weak soldier civilizations have the spore ship, like the thalans, who seem more deserving of it. They seem like they would be more fitting of toxic planets, I mean, their bugs.
