Is the Metaverse broken?

Others have asked more or less the same question, but I haven't seen an answer yet.
I've submitted two games, one of them almost 48 hours ago, and I have yet to show up in the metaverse list.

But what is more alarming is that the list contains only 51 names. Something is seriously wrong with that number. There ought to be at least a few hundred names by now.

What gives?

It's glitchy at the moment, from what I can tell.
When it does work, your score should appear fairly quickly - both mine that worked were there by the time I loaded the page to check.

Several people (including me) seem to be having trouble submitting so there is probably something not quite right but I understood they are working on it.

Well, I haven't gotten it to work in 3 games. FWIW, my GalCiv box is on my local network and being NAT'd through my linux box. I'm going to run tcpdump on my next submission to see if data is actually trying to _go_ to the metaverse.

Does Metaverse use your serial number to match up your game score to the player name or does the player name have to match the logon or email address?

Could someone who has gotten it to work tell give examples of what they did to get it to work?

:sniff!:

Everyone interest in this, please see the thread, "Brad's ongoing GalCiv update thread". Most of it deals with this issue. You will need to download the new .dll, and possibly re-register your player with the metaverse (http://www.galciv.com/playerreg.asp).

One thing that should be pointed out (I missed it at first) is that registering with the Metaverse is entirely seperate from all your other registrations. For the scores to work, you must click on the registration link on the Metaverse page and then enter your nickname and serial number.

After I did that, the game that I had already submitted popped up.

Not taking any scores for me either with the exception of one where I abandoned Sol on turn 2 (crappy start).

I had real trouble with this, then finally managed it seemingly by accident. The player registration page wasn't working for a while, then I finally got to log into GalCiv, then get to the serial number entry, but it is using my real name from
my Dregin.net order. Perhaps only the people who chose the download option are getting onto the Metaverse?

No, I did the download option and am having major problems. I have verified that the data is leaving my PC(or at least attempts to send it) when I hit submit, but for some reason it just isn't getting to

Besides for a few crashes and the metaverse problems I am enjoying the game quite a bit. :)

I've been unable to get my score to register on metaverse....a bit frustrating for sure. That seems to be the only "hall of fame" so I'm bummed it doesn't submit properly.

Brad's earlier post mentions a new minor build of 1.01a that will be available later today to address the issue of metaverse scores not submitting properly due to bad serial number data being passed over the HTTP connection to their server. I still see the minor build as 1.01a.30 so it is probably not available yet. I'm going to play some more on my current game and check back later.

I've been having the same problem. I have submitted 5 games, one of which has made it to the metaverse. Oh well.

I got it to work once with the inofficial patch and sdnet.dll installed.
With the official patch (even Mondays build) it is broken again.
I have submitted a couple of games but none of them made it to the metaverse :(
