Saintly?

I just downloaded DA 1.61.090 and started a game as the Iconians.

I'm pretty well into the game, now. When presented with ethical choices, I've been mostly picking the evil choices. However, the game says my alignment is "saintly" and the indicator is way over to the left (the good side). What gives?

You need to make a LOT of evil choices if you want tp see a difference.

Alignment is tracked on a scale from 0 - 100, with 0 being Pure Evil and 100 being Pure Good. The Drengin have a rating of 1, for example (though with the advent of the Korath in DA, Drengin may be more like a 5).

The Iconians have an alignment value of 90. Only the Altarians are "gooder".

Each moral choice random event has the potential to move the current alignment score by a fixed amount associated with that event, in the range of ~1 to 5 points. Extreme choices on most events are worth 2-4 points.

So the moral of this story is: be as evil as you want, in practice. Take the choice that benefits most at the moment (usually Evil). Its probably going to take you 12 to 15 despicable choices to move you anywhere close to Neutral alignment. Or just save some money up, and pay for the change once you research Xeno Ethics.
