WTH? The Paulos went insane! Please read.

Just started a new game and went ahead with my colonization business when suddenly I saw something that made me almost fall from my chair:

The Paulos, a minor race, had a colony ship! And it was heading straight towards the secondary planet in my home system (which I never colonize right away)! At first I thought that maybe it had just a messed-up ship name, but no:

Of course I could have grabbed the planet they were heading for, but I wanted to know if they would really colonize it - so I let them proceed. And sure enough, a few turns later:

Unfortunately I do not know if they had the ship right from the start or if they build it.

Has anyone experienced this behaviour of a minor race before? This happened in Dark Avatar 1.6, no mods installed, huge galaxy, masochistic difficulty, maximum number of major and minor races.

The Paulos, a minor race, had a colony ship!

In one of my suicidal game, where I tried a trade whoring, and generated max number of minors, I saw a minor civ with a colonizer. I don't remember well, but they could be Paulos.

The letzlandians often colonize other planets in thier system on my game. Makes sense to me Maybe they shouldnt be going after planets in other systems though.

Probably they did not realized, the planet was in other stars system - they are a minor race after all and not supposed to be bright

Opens up an interesting avenue actually. If you give a minor race colonisers, would they use them?

Could come in handy...

So this bug is already known. Did this happen to you only in DA 1.6 or also in older versions?

Maybe they were traded the ship?


No, because then it wouldn't be labeled Paulos Colony Ship but have the original race in its name. Since it only has one colony module on it and the Terran-style starter colony ships have an additional (dummy) one, I suspect that the Paulos have actually built that ship.
