Everywhere Class 0 + planet types??

Hi guys,

I am pretty new to this game and when I played several quick games and I had some major problems with colonization... (Dark Avatar)

For some reason I had everywhere class 0 planets BUT the other people could colonizate planets which were class 0 for me and I could conquer them afterwards.... how comes??

I had all the colonization advanced barren, radioactive whatever researched and still all the planets on the screen were class 0 for me....but other races were building colonies on such planets.

Actually they didnt even show the type of the planet for me. How can I find out the type of planets? Always only said uninhabitable.

Class 0 planets are always class 0--they don't have the special types, they're just plain unusable, period. The only way a class 0 planet can be colonized is if a random event occurs that raises the class of all planets in an area.

The sepcial types of planets do have regular class ratings larger than 0 from the start, you just can't colonize them until you have the first level of colony tech for that type. These special planet types are denoted by red/yellow/green icons to show when they are uncolonizable, colonizable but not fully useable, and fully useable.

You can conquer planets of types you can't yet colonize on your own if someone else colonized them first, but you won't have any manufacturing there until you do get the appropriate techs.

Is there not a way to mine/extract resources from Class 0 planets? Seems a waste of space just to have them floating there. :p
