I do like the variety of ideas here. I'm also glad that many people can remain civil, especially while debating very hot topics. I have been some places where every thread I've seen has turned into a flame war. It's very nice to find a forum that is so open and friendly.

Well it helps if the moderators remind people what is expected, and enforce some order when something goes really bad. About 2-4 weeks ago, wheeloffire was banned for good due to the trouble he kept causing. They also have created a few threads for hot topics such as multiplayer, and carriers.

The end result is, posts like this, don't get wildly out of control. But I'm sure you've noticed since you are the original poster, Marcus.

Very true DivineWrath. I think my comment was more relative in nature. I have seen forums that are much worse with moderators gracing alomst every thread to try and keep the peace.

Over all I think the moderators are doing a great job and I think the community members also seem very good at checking themselves before posting something that could be offensive.

In some forums, you only have to twitch and all you get is abuse, just to shut down the thread.

I have read so many posts on so many threads, but I still find it important to step back.

I have had a lot of bad online experiences with really fantastic communities being dragged down by a select few. I wholly support free speech when someone's got something to say and does it in a civil fashion, but if they simply aim to hurt and can not obey the simple social rules of self moderation, then it is great that the mods will step in and warn or remove them.

When mods refuse to do that, a forum simply dies.

I really like the tone here now - back a year ago there were too many people complaining about specific nit-picks.... their own minor soapbox that absolutely had to be in the game or they'd never shut up...... not only has that gone, but it seems like a thoughtful and polite group has fully settled in! I hope I can add something to that

I love and live these forums. I've been in many forums that have died before and still show myself in loads that still live on. apart from this. there ain't no equal
but I do spend most of my arguments in here as I get so many kick arsed , critical replies.

It's funny, this is the only forum I frequent where I'm actually polite to people. Maybe it's because people here are polite back. Elsewhere, I'm known as a horrific troll with a razor tongue. . .
