ok, about the map sizes again...

...at some point between the original version and 1.20, the maximum map size has become much smaller - can anyone tell me what version is the latest with the OLD mapsizes..?

?? the map sizes are still the same, make sure when you start your game your galaxy setting is not on one of the smaller map sizes.

edit: i say this because when you patch your game, it restores the galaxy size to the default (tiny), and i ended up playing a game this way by accident.

...I'm pretty sure the gigantic size is smaller, though I'm gonna check with a fresh CD install again just to be sure...

I'm pretty sure it gets bigger. Not sure at what version. I used to play Gigantic, now because of the new size, it's way too slow on my computer. One of the downsides to making it bigger I guess. I'm going to upgrade my computer in the fall anyway though. Plus I got used to be able to play the smaller "Large" maps anyway.

that certainly is a way to test it, but i do believe the map size is the same if not bigger. I could be wrong, and would like to know what you come up with :)
