Video Problems

I was playing with my video settings, trying to get the in game movies to play fluidly, and when I returned to the main menu, the menu screen had enlarged its self outside the boundary of my monitor preventing me from actually selecting any options.

Basically what I want to know is how to reset all the options to default without actually being in the game. I've already tried uninstalling the game and deleting all the folders I could find that were related to the game (the entire Stardock folder basically).

Delete Prefs.ini, which is located in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2.
If you are using DA there might be another Prefs.ini in its folder too.

Hey Wallaby,

sounds to me as if you did select a screen resolution, when changing the games video settings, your monitor isnt yet configurated for.
Check your monitor for a button whose description reads "AUTO" (or something similar). Use it to let your monitor auto adjust the display size to fit its screen.
If you have an older monitor, you probably will have to manually adjust the display though. There should be a menu button you should be able to access your screen setup with. Good luck!

Thanks Moosetek, deleting the Prefs files did it. I have so many folders My Documents I didn't even notice it.

Also thanks to Swiffo for reminding me my monitor has an auto adjust button.
