Building Ships

Anyone?

You create your ships inside the game itself, not from the Race setup screen. You can save them as either complete ships (with weapons/engines and so on) or templates (which is just the bare hull plus jewelry). You can then use those ships to create custom ship styles.

Unfortunately, there's no way to create custom ships without going through the whole starting a new game stuff first.

So where exactly do i go in game to save the ships as templates or complete ships?

When you're designing the ship there's an option to save it as a template.

One of the tabs along the bottom opens the shipyard. It looks a bit like a rocket in a diamond shape.

When you open it, you should see a list of ships down the left hand side, and a 3D model of the currently selected ship on the right. There should also be some buttons saying 'New', 'Upgrade', 'Delete' and 'Obsolete'.

Just click on 'New' to start your own ship, or 'Upgrade' to change the currently selected ship.
