Good Alignment techs???

I finally decided to go "Good" and try the techs that they get. (the defense techs)

I was able to research teh armor, shields, and the missle deffense. and even though my race was fully good, I could not put the defense items onto my ships!

Is this a bug? is there a patch for this? is it just me?

What version of the game are you playing? Those items were missing in the initial release of GC2, but you should have them if you're patched up.
