Giving ships to other races

I recently built a small fleet of fighters to give to one of the smaller races in this scenario so I could prop them up to fight against an Ally I'm preparing to knock off. Problem is, the ships don't show up in the trade window when I try to give them to the race. Will this idea work?

If your ships are in fleets they will not show up. Useful if you don't wan't to look through hundreds of ships to find the ones you want to give away!

Yep. You'll need to de-fleet the ships in order to give them away.
