Missing Core Ships (Not becoming available to build.)

This seems to have been mentioned, but I can't find anyone with a fix. I'm very annoyed that some of the core ships aren't showing up in the build queue after the tech requirements are fullfilled. The templates show up, but I want them to show up in the build queue like they are supposed to.

I hope I don't come across as too gripey. I absolutely love this game. It's been the best investment I've made in a long time. I'll definately be looking forward to future titles from you guys. Thanks!

Am I the only one not able to get the core ships to show up after the required techs are researched?

There are multiple tabs (all, core, and user). Are you sure you don't have 'User' selected? They're at the top of the build/design screens.

As to the constructor issue, I believe that there's an option somewhere for that.

Oh no. I may not be clear. The ship templates show up, no problem. It's just, they don't show up in the build menu...least not all of them. I know I get the StarFury, Defender, Cruiser, and Corvette. I don't get the Sniper, Missleboat, or Thunder. I've verified and I do have the required techs....just never get the ships. Now I can go into the templates section and use the templates to build the ships myself...but I don't want to have to do that. If it works for some ships it should work for all ships. I'm not a custom ship kind of guy...least not yet. And I don't want to have to be forced to be one because of a bug. Ya know?

Have you tried researching more miniaturization?

Why are you bothering with the core ships? they are vastly inferior to anything you'll design on your own. If you don't want to spend the time to build ships from scratch, that's what the templates are for. The core ships don't take advantage of your tech advancements and can't be tuned to your enemies.

That, and designing your own ships is a hell of a lot of fun.

I understand that. I just know this is supposed to work and doesn't. So I'd like a fix if possible. It's designed to do this...least it sure seems that way. I may get to designing my own ships, but to start out I'd like to use the core ones...and I want them to become available when they are supposed to.

I tested the miniaturization thing, but they still didn't become available.

You're likely missing a requisite tech somewhere.

Seriously, though, just use the templates, since that's all you'd REALLY be getting from the core ships, and you don't need specific techs to unlock the templates. The core ships do not have your newest tech on them, nor do they have ENOUGH of it on. There is absolutely no reason not to set the equipment loadouts yourself, as you'll be crippling your fleets otherwise.

The core combat ships as equiptted are useless. A surefire way to lose.

Use the templates - you don't need to put bling on them - it only takes a few moments to add the correct functioning modules to them - I'm glad when they don't show up - they just clutter up the ship list. I obsolete them as soon as they do.
