Severe crash with GCII:DA and Stardock Central

I experienced a severe bug with GCII:DA/Stardock Central.
I have installed the beta 1.50[b].102 and Stardock 2.45.458 build 149 with Windows 2000.
Sometimes my GC crashes back to the desktop. Something I have come to terms with because my system is quite old.
Yesterday I happened again and I decided to update GA once again. When I started Stardock Central it took ages until something happened. Then when I pressed update - bang - system rebooting!!
It rebooted until you see the blue background of the Windows screen before the log in window. Then - bang - system rebooting! It rebooted to the login again the next time. Minor difference: a pop up saying that Windows was unable to load DMusic.sys in the Windows sys32/drivers folder... The system got stuck in an endless rebooting loop.

I corrected the problem by starting Windows in safe mode and installing the newest DirectX (9.0c) drivers.

I cannot tell if this problem is entirely the result of a GA bug but this is the only conclusion I have right now. So I thought it was worth telling here.

Err... did I mention that Winamp was running in the background? Maybe that has also caused my crashes before but never this severe. I always ended at the desktop.
Even after updating all components of GC the system will reboot after loading the save game when runnig winamp in the background!

Without WA it is running without problems so far. ( Have not had the time to play longer than a few minutes)
