All default ships dissapeared

The only thing I deleted were the ships I had designed in My Documents/My games/GalCiv2/ships ,there were no files for the default made ships, is there a way to restore them? (Playing custom race on that game)

Nevermind, fixed it, the random race I had created somehow generated a bug that wouldn't let me use the default builds, deleted it, remade a new one. Fixed.

Ok, that was yesterday, but it's screwed up again. Now I really can't access them default builds (Unless they require some kind of technology?)

If you're playing a custom race, you may not have bought hyperdrive or some other basic tech in the customization screen. That would cause the colony ship, etc to not appear at the start of the game.

They do require techs - as you research up the weapons and armor trees, the default ships become available.

If you use those things, though, be sure to strip off all of their weapons, armor, sensors, and life support and put on your current best components. And some engines, for Pete's sake.

Honestly, when I read your title, I was hoping you had found a way to keep them from cluttering up your ship list. I don't mind having them around as templates to use if I want, but I hate having to obsolete a bunch of ships every time I acquire a new tech.

Spore. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfrakker in the galaxy. Accept no substitutes.
