Can't post results to metaverse

I bought Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar Gold edition from Best Buy and I am not able to post my results to the metaverse. I am getting an error that the server is rejecting it because the serials do not match. This is not true. There was one serial included with the game. I typed it in, exactly as it appeared, both on my characters here and in my game and it isn't working.

I'm getting that too. It's from a game starting after I downloaded the most recently available from SDC on saturday.

Please contact [email protected]. You should receive an automated response shortly after you send the mail with your ticket number; if you don't, check your spam/bulk folders.

This has worked for several people now;

Re-register your game(s) in SDC with the original serial numbers you had, not those tht may come when you request SDC to 'remind' you.
Those serial numbers are different than your original ones, and they work in SDC but may cause this issue in the Metaverse.
If you don't have your original serial numbers, e-mail us at [email protected] and ask us to copy & paste your numbers from your Stardock.net account.

You should then re-paste the serials into your Metaverse character account, even if you see the same number appearing, paste it anyway. This step was necessary for one person.

Please note, that a game must be created and submitted using the same serial number.  If you create a game using serial number X and then later update your serial number to Y and submit your game, then you will receive the error you mentioned above.

So if you create a game when you have serial X registered then you must still have that same serial number registered when you submit the game.  This is to prevent people from sharing saved games and re-submitting them under different accounts.
