How is Social Production doing these days?

I've been searching the forum but i can't seem to find answers to these so here it goes:

1. A year ago (i wasn't playing back then) people had the opinion that putting points in social production was worthless. Why was that and does that general idea still exist with version 1.6?

2a. When not building social projects on a planet, how much of your social production gets redirected to military?

2b. That redirected social production, is it based on base values or social production bonus included?

2c. When making a custom race, you decide to grant +30% bonus to both military and social production. If you only build social OR military projects (but not both at the same time), is there any point in granting a bonus to military since social production just gets redirected?

2b and 2c may overlap a bit i know.

All social or military production is diverted to the other if there isn't a project to be done, and refunded if neither has a project.

However, it is not a matter of diverting actual production AFAIK so much as it is of diverting the funding. So bonuses are not diverted. For example, if you have military spending to 40% and social spending to 40%, but no social project, it will act as if military spending was 80% on that planet. Any bonus you get would depend purely on your military production bonus, and the social bonus would do nothing. Vice-versa if you had a social project but no ships queued.

I'm sorry, but with my game DA 1.6beta5 and all previous versions of the game I can not confirm that transfer of unused military production to social. The transfer goes only from unused social into military.
