"out of memory"-crash. (DA 1.6 beta 4)

I have had a few instances when, after playing for a few hours, the game first gets strangely unstabele, then suddenly exits to desktop with a "out of memory"-message.
The DA-tab then remains active and must be closed using TaskManager.
TaskManager also revelas that available Physical memory is down to some 160megs only (out of 2 gigs), all of witch is immediately fred up when force-quiting DA.
My desktop also get messed up by this so I have to restart my computer to get things back to normal again.
I strongly suspect it is DA, not my system messing things up.
Also, my graphic card seems to be working really, really hard when playing.
I found that to be a little bit surprising.
Theese crashes has happened playing games in medium sized galaxies so should not be to blame for this problem (should not take up that much memory AFAIK)
My specs.
Intel Duo (2.4)
2 gigs of ram
GF8800 GTS (320mb)
Windows XP (home edition)

but everytime I try to do so, the same microsoft error report pops up. Nothing has changed with my system from yesterday to today so I didn't have a clue. Probably just going to wait until work tomorrow and just redownload everything, bring it home and start from scratch.
Sorry Kryo buddy, but it seems like you pretty much eat, sleep and breathe this website. Regardless of whether it's your job or not, and regardless of how much you 'enjoy' it, everyone needs to take a break from time to time or you just might end up 'hating your passion'.
