DA 1.59[b].096 ship model corruption

This is weird.

Rather than try to describe it, I'll just let the screenshot speak for itself.

Didn't have this happen in the previous beta, and nothing changed driver-wise since then either. nVidia GF7950GT 512MB w/ beta 97.73 drivers.

Several others have reported this as well and CodeCritter is investigating. To help things along, please post your debug for him over on the 1.6 beta 4 release thread.

Also, in case you haven't tried:

1. Verify that you have the most up-to-date driver for your video card.

2. Try reinstalling the game to make sure no files have been corrupted.

Driver update verified. In fact I dumped XP x32 in favor of Vista x64 and just let it do its thing. Same video card, 158.18 drivers. Also since I went to Vista x64 I also bought a new hard drive (a 10KRPM WD Raptor 150GB) to replace my old 80GB drive and thus redownloaded and installed the game, up to the current beta. The problem still persists.

Am searching for the debug.err file now, but I suppose I actually have to start a game for it to create one? I got the model corruption in the ship preview style screen in the civ creator, and stopped there.

I have this issue! I figured I was nuts and had done something to corrupt my files or something. Good to know it ain't just me. How do I post said debug.err file? Or rather, where do I find it on my comp so I can post it?

It's in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar (or wherever you installed the game at if you put it elsewhere).

1.59[b].097 available now on SDC fixed the problem for me.

Sweet, looks like the same is happening for me. Thanks, Stardock!
