Mass Drivers Not On Shipyard List

I've just gotten this game recently, the Gold Edition Dark Avatar version.

Anyways I've played some games and I notice that I can't use any of the Mass Drivers past Nano Ripper.

Now it didn't matter much in the first couple games, but now I'm on suicidal and I have neutrino bullets and I kind of need to be able to install them to have a good chance of beating the game.

I've tried restarting the game, and I even tried updating it, no luck. I have version 1.5 at the bottom left of the main menu.

Can anyone tell me whats wrong?

Also, should I uninstall it and reinstall it? And if I do, can I copy the saves and paste them and they still be usable?

Are you playing the campaign or a regular game? Research options are limited throughout much of the campaign. If you want to play with the full tree, play a normal sandbox game.

Of course I'm playing a regular game. How would I have neutrino bullets if I weren't?

Anyways I'm hoping someone knows something about why this isn't working. I can't finish my game without it.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious - I don't mean this sarcastically at all, just for the sake of completeness: Nano Rippers 'float' to the top of the list because they do more damage than some other types. Have you looked for the other weapons on the list below Nano Rippers?

I've looked at a guide (one with a list of all weapons and stats) and from what I can tell there are quantum drivers, HD drivers, and Neutrino bullets. (weapons that once researched can be mounted onto your ships)

Its not some mistake in me looking there and missing it. It's just not there. I've done it like 10 times now. I had the HD driver technology for awhile and was looking to put that technology into weapons but didn't see it on shipyard. Now that I had gotten Neutrino bullets, I thought that would show up on list but it doesn't.

So I'm trying to figure out whats wrong with my game and stuff. I've gone through the list with all the weapons on it and even just the mass driver list.

Also I forgot to mention that one of the comps has this technology and I traded for it, and I've seen one of their fleets of 3 to 6 ships with like 950 damage in mass driver. So I'm guessing the comp is using these weapons.

Another thing is, when you get quantum driver 1, I believe, it opens up the basic ranger ship design which I'm guessing the quantum driver weapons (16 mass driver damage, nano rippers are 5 each). Anyways I can build the ship using the technology, it just seems like its not showing up on my shipyard screen.

Nevermind I decided to repair or uninstall and reinstall, anyways the repair fixed whatever it was so everything is fine now.
