Okay really enjoying the game and this could be on the CD or something but is there a guide someplace that shows you the Tech paths and what you get when you research each item.

I keep seeing x ship needs 3 more techs and then spending ages trying to work out what path i need to help me out.

As far as ship types, that is hard, becasue everytime you create a ship, it will be added to the Tech Tree. Unless you 'delete' the design in the ship builder, or delete the design from your hard drive, it will show up in the Tech Tree the next game you play as that race.

You may never quite get the level of miniaturization, or combination of techs to get that ship.

In DA, you can alleviate this by making templates of designs you like, without weopons or miniaturization - so you can use them whenever you want. The modding forum has threads about this in detail.

Update the game using the 1.4x patch available on the downloads page, or update via Stardock Central. One of the patches since release added the actual list of what other techs you need to those notes. Plus the updates add lots of new features and fixes anyway, so it's always a good idea to get up to date.

I'm all upto date and as you mentioned it does stahat techs i need. Its just i find that i then have to work out what path i'm on and how close i am to a tech...Thanks for the Link to Galactopedia its useful though its a pain to flick between one system and the next...

Odd as its seems i miss a fold out sheet that i can look at and follow...Sad yes low tech very much but hey i work in IT and i like the simple life some times
