Strange flickering, Geforce 8800GTX

I'm using the forceware 158.18 for Vista, Geforce 8800 GTX. Well, for all the drivers on 8800 GTX that I tried, I noticed that there's a flickering issue with Galactic Civilizations 2: Dread Lord. It's noticeable on the trade routes and also during planetary invasions where the wheels of all the vechicles seems to be flickering and bouncing about. Previously on my 6600, no such thing happened. I was using a pentium 4 then.. now Core 2 Duo.

If I play long enough, the computer will crash with a blue screen. I get this feeling that the driver is problematic or the game can't work well with it....

I get that flickering as well in those same two spots using an 8800GTS on XP with a C2D. I've just noticed also on the invasion screens sometimes it plays through in a freaky purple, blue, red or green colour, is this intended based on planet type or a bug. I don't get the BSOD though so that's probably one of those vista driver things.

Please go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2 (or wherever you installed the game at), open the debug.err file you find there in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. If this is a DA report, you'll find the debug in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar instead. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug will be erased and recreated for the new session.

P.S:

This debug is from an old game that I started. I fired up the autosave and went around the map and also started an invasion. After which, I quickly quit the game.... nothing seems wrong nor is there anything stating why are the things flickering... As for the blue screen, it takes about an hour or so.. I'm not free right now to test that out...

As to the BSOD, if it happens again, write down the all-caps error code at the top, faulting file (if it says one), and the memory addresses listed at the bottom of the screen (numbers prefixed with 0x). The flickering would seem to indicate some sort of driver issue, and BSODs point all the more so in that direction (a BSOD can typically only be caused by a driver issue or failing hardware).
