This is a warning about what has happened to me!

I HATE THE METAVERSE! it is driving me mad!

I was better off playing without having to submite scores, thanks to the metaverse i cant even play GC2 it wont let me! I tried to download GC2 but it says that i have to spend more money just to play the god damn Game! I have already spend $80 just to buy the game from a store and now thw want me to spend anthor $30! thats a bloody rip off! i cant play the game because i need to activate it, i cant activate it because they wont validate my serial number! All those who have read this message be extremely carful! and all those who read this and are working of StarDock or GalCiv2 or who ever, YOU GET MY GAME WORKING!!!! I am sick and tired of haveing people tell me 'e-mail Stardock support', what have they done for me, i have sent them countless emails and never replied to any of them, i was roodly and abruplty shoved aside and left for the dogs to eat! If you think i haven't tried every option avaliable to me think again! I Erased all evedence of GC2 of my computer and reinstalled it, but even that didn't work! I will try one last time to get my game to work! those of you who work for the metaverse will you help me this time. if i can't get this to work then i will be forced to quit!

The Point is that the game has been working fine for 4 months now. then we got broadband and when i opened my game it said i had to join metaverse to continue playing, and now i've done that they want more money just so i can get a Supid Serial number. i need that number coze my games says that i cant continue playing until i activate it with a serial number (I do have one on the booklet but it comes up as an invalid code)!

That's awfull....when I think I wanted yesterday to get the Metaverse too.
I don't understand: if you have the right serial number, which worked before, why can't it be then activated by Stardock online? You should be able to reinstall the game through the download manager "Stardock Central" as many times as you want...

I dont understand... why would they force me to join, this has never happened to me before, the only thing i can think of is that it's a scam, just a way to scab $30 off me. why else would thay do force me to join?

i just check StarDock Central. I need the Serial to reinstall galciv2. you see what i mean, it's a set up.

You sure you weren't ripped off by the store, or got invaded by malware through your broadband? Some pirates steal serial numbers from legal copies and liberally sell copies of said game with that serial number. You could have been sold a pirated copy, or your copy could have had its serial number compromised.

The store was a Stardock store, it sold only stardock products.

If i was invaded by malware AVG Firewall would have picked it up long ago. i will run a scan though just to make sure.

does anyone know anyone who works for stardock who is on the metaverse

Well, you could desinstall the game and reinstall from the CD. The retail version has no activation.

Concerning the serial number, have you only one starting with GC2? If it is the case, you may want to check this page https://www.galciv2.com/paradox/

I tried that, read up the top, you'll read that i completely wipe GalCiv2 from my hard drive and any other folder it dwelled in.

How have you uninstalled it? If you have only removed directories, some registry keys could still be here. I don't see how you could have played the game with retail CD before and how that would prevent you to play the game if you reinstall it from the CD without patching it through stand alone patch or Stardock Central

You mentioned that you have switched to broadband. Do you have a different e-mail address now? If you do, you have to use the old e-mail address when you re-registered the game. I had the same problem, and using my old e-mail address fixed it. Once you successfully re-register, you can update you e-mail address in your profile.

Let me tell you hat i did.

First i Uninstalled GC2, then i visited each and every folder in my hard drive a erase all left over folders, then visited the folders outside the hard drive and erase the glaciv2 products in them, then i uninstalled Stardock Central (i reinstalled it later) and to finish it of i used 'SpyBot Search And Destroy' to completely remove it from all systems, folders and drives. then i installed everything all over again.

I'm sorry if i seem harsh or uptight by after having this happen i'm very upset.

well i tried everything i could, the last thing i could try would be a complete system wipe meaning i basicly reset the computer systems, erase everything on the computer not just Galciv2. but i'm not that dessperate to play the game so i'll just have to uninstall the game and leave the metaverse, stick with my other games. how do you erase your metaverse account?

Have you checked that you have cleaned all registries keys associated with Galciv2 ....

The retail version of the game doesn't need activation. I find it very strange that you have an activation problem with the retail version. How have your reinstalled GC2?

WAIT!!! I've had a thought, it it might work. but i need to know how to erase my account, it involve Command Prompt and a little bit of computer repromgraming. but i might be able to block stardock from doing this again. Don't worry, i will return.

My friend (Who i might add, stole my nickname) who you know as 'Red Raven God Of Fire' tried the same thing. i know he's a little coo coo in the head but he really know his way round computer like me (he quit so i might take that name back). trust me.

One thing is sure: you don’t have a pirated serial, because you could use the serial once and played already. It can be that the serial is already registered to another account (check if your registration email is still the same) and this has to be solved then by stardock support indeed. The message which tells you to buy the game is just automatic, I don’t believe these guys are $ hungry sharks…

I forgot, but it looks like there are 2 different numbers. Kryo a stardock moderator wrote: “The game should come with a CE serial beginning with GC2- and a game serial composed of 0-9,A-F with no dashes and only 28 characters. You need to use the game serial to register the game. If there isn't one anywhere in the package, support can give you one.”

But i wont need to do that. i can set up a firewall using Command prompt, i can block stardock from accessing my computer systems, then i can just reinstall the game and rejoin the metaverse. but i need to know how to erase my existing acount before i can proceed, that is all i need to know, how to erase an account.

The Galciv2 registry keys aren't associated with your user account but with your machine. So erasing an user account won't do anything.

I don't really see how you could have experienced the activation process IF you have reinstalled the retail version from the retail CDs.

Lol, oh really now? I have the original version, AND the Gold edition, and I never had to activate my game to play.

how do i put this... to set up the firewall to stop it from happening again i need to sever all connections with the target site, i'm connected through my user so their is no garantee that it will work. i need to erase my account. if there isn't a way to erase i then that's all you had to say.
