Pop growth

Playing as sentients with breeder super abilty. After 1 yr of play my pop stopped growing, planets were not maxed out, approval rating was around 72% overall.
Cannot figure out why pop stopped growing, runniing a defeceit but still had money in treasury, does social spending have anything to do with pop growth?

Do breeders only get bonus with 100% overall approval rating or does it go planet by planet?

It's planet by planet. Are you SURE you're not hitting either the PQ limit OR the food limit?

planet limit was not reached but food limit?
Where would i see food limit? and to add extra food is buy building farms correct which will increase pop limit also?

PQ? planet quality, did you mean planet pop limit?

I see the 2nd planet together in same system as homeworld not growing, its the PQ 4 u get with the homeworld system. I built a farm on it so it has 9mt/wk, plus i put 2 labs there so far, 82% approval, other squares need soil enhancment still, i transfered pop from homewolrd and got it up to 3.6B now but it will not grow on its own?
i have pressed turn 15 times and pop will not change, what am i doing wrong?

Anyone any ideas?

Okay, you've got the food limit right. It's mt/wk. that's how many people your world has the possibility to reach, how many it can support if you will. However, all worlds also have an internal limit as to how much population it will grow. Unytil I read through quite a few of these threads I was perplexed as you are. On smaller worlds, pop will only grow so much. after that is reached, it will not grow any further. You can always transport more people there how ever, up to you food limit. Hope this helped.

I don't think there is a pop limit per planet quality, it is just how much food you have. If you transport more people than that onto the planet they disappear/die but you aren't at that limit, so unless there was some Event that happened I don't have an answer.

There definitely is a pop cap based upon planet quality. Luckily, you can get around it by researching the planetary improvements techs, i.e., Soil Enhancement, Habitat Improvement, Terraforming. I don't keep my 4-PQ planet at that PQ for too long, unless I'm planning to ferry population to that planet via colony ships or troop ships. I think that all other people who play at the higher difficulty settings will give this same advice.

Population is perhaps your most valuable resource. Of course it depends upon your strategy, but I find this true for any strategy I have used so far.
