Question/Issue Yor and colonization of barren planets

I just started a game as the Yor and I found a barren world and colonized it.

However, none of the tiles appear to be useable. I understand that until I research the next barren world tech, I wouldn't be able to fully utilize the planet...but I can't use any of them.

The planet has a number of green tiles (outline green with some green within the tile itself) and I built a factory on one of those tiles. After the factory was completed, I expected to see some units of production displayed,(military and social) but it's still showing zeros across the board.

What am I missing/overlooking?

You only have the 1st level of barren planet extreme colonization for free with the Yor. With the first level of extreme colonization you can set the colony but you have significant production penalties. To get the full potential out of a barren planet you'll need to get Advanced Barren colonization.

The same is true for Iconians (aquatic, toxic (?)) and Korath (toxic).

Thanks Hydro, but I have no production whatsoever. Even with two factories built, production still shows as zero.

could be because of your production sliders. I often have this happen when I have most of my production on research. Try putting manufacturing on high and see if that makes a difference.

i had the same thing too. didnt know about the 50% production penalty. To test this, try sliding your "social" slider to 100% then check back in on that planet and you will see positive progress. Of course thats just a test, can't leave it at 100% just for that planet. best to let the planet's population grow and research that second half soon.
